Products & Installation

Read all instructions before installation and use:

1. With the Trailer Trap in the lowered position, center the trailer couple over the X on the Trailer Trap.

2. Remove coupler from vehicle, raise tongue with crank to 18” and move tow vehicle.

3. Raise the Trailer Trap with ball extended and when vertical, push ball down, locking the ball and column into place.

4. Lower the tongue onto the ball and if an additional layer of security is desired, lock the coupler with our low profile coupler lock, part # TTCL.

5. Pivot the coupler shield over the secured coupler, insert the stainless barrel lock into the protected hole and lock.

The Trailer Trap can be installed on concrete, asphalt, or any similar hard surface. Red heads, expanding anchors, power nails, or any number of fasteners will attach it to an existing surface. A drill with a masonry bit is all that’s required for most installations.

(Note: After installing the anchors take a hammer and using eye protection, peen or round the stud to prevent the nuts from being loosened.)

If you wish to pour a small pad, our inexpensive flush mount kit, part #TTFM1 allows you to pour a small pad and install the Trailer Trap in one step using two bags of concrete.

If you want it installed, a local tradesman should be able to complete the installation in under an hour.
